6 DAY GAME SAFARI.
Day 1: Arrival at Arusha.
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by our representative and checked into your hotel. You will then be briefed on your safari.
Dinner and overnight at Hotel Jacaranda.
Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park (130km) 2 -3 hours and Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
After an early breakfast you will be picked and driven to Lake Manyara National Park arriving in time for lunch. After lunch you will relax, in preparation for a late afternoon game drive in the Manyara National park.
Lake Manyara National Park is one of Tanzania's most prized parks, consisting of a shallow soda lake, covering two-thirds of the park. The Park is a paradise of woodlands and lakes that provide for abundant wildlife including the gazelle, buffalo, elephants, wildebeest, the black manned lion, tree-climbing lions, leopard giraffe, leopard, civet, black rhino, hippo, zebra, impala, antelope, the shy pangolin, bushbuck, waterbuck, hyena and many others.
Dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara Tree Lodge.
Day3: Ngorongoro Crater & Olduvai Gorge.
You will depart Lake Manyara for Ngorongoro Conservation Area after breakfast (the drive is about 1 and half hours). Check in will be at the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge after which you will tour the Olduvai Gorge, also known as "the cradle of mankind''. The Gorge lies on the site of an ancient lake, covered by thick layers of volcanic ash, which carefully preserved the world's earliest records of mankind and which was unearthed by the dedicated Leakey family.
After the gorge you will visit the museum, which displays some of these fascinating discoveries.
You will return to the lodge for lunch, relax and prepare for a late afternoon game drive in the Ngorongoro Conservation area. The Ngorongoro Crater floor is home to over 30,000 animals, here you will see many species of wild Game such as the black Rhino and elephant and a variety of birds such as Flamingoes.
The area has an active Ol-Ndoinyo Lengai volcano which last erupted in 1983, and is also a major attraction.
Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge.
Day 4: Serengeti National Park (145km) 3hrs 30mins.
You will have and early breakfast, after which you will depart for Serengeti National Park arriving in time for lunch at Seronera Wildlife Lodge.
Serengeti National Park is undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world, unequalled in its natural beauty. With more than two million wildebeest, half a million Thomson's gazelle, and a quarter of a million zebra, it has the greatest concentration of plains game in Africa. It is also a resting place for the "big 5", that is, the Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Rhinoceros and Elephant.
After lunch you will go for a late afternoon game drive. Some of the animals you can expect to see include the Lion, Thomson gazelle, topi, ostrich, buffalo and cheetah.
Dinner and overnight at the Seronera Wildlife Lodge.
Day 5: Balloon Safari and Lake Ndutu.
Balloon safaris mainly takes place at dawn, before sunrise, offering a unique and great photographic opportunity of the wildlife below. The hot air balloon allows you to see the plains from higher above.
The balloon ride is for about one hour depending on weather conditions.
On landing you will be met by a helpful team, and as is the tradition of balloon safaris you will toast to your return back to earth with a glass of champagne, before sitting down to enjoy a full English breakfast prepared and served in the bush in 'out of Africa style!'
After the Bush breakfast you will receive a Serengeti Balloon Certificate after which you'll be driven back to the lodge.
You will relax at the lodge until time for lunch. After lunch you will leave for an afternoon game drive around Lake Ndutu, 1hour 45mins away. The lake is alkaline, like most other Rift lakes, however several wildlife still drink the water. You will expect to see elephants and a variety of bird species. Dinner and overnight at Ndutu Lodge.
Day 6: Return to Arusha.
You will have a relaxed breakfast after which you will depart for Arusha arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Jacaranda.
