Day 1: Arrival.
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport you will be met by our representative who will brief you on your safari. Dinner and overnight Imperial Resort Hotel Entebbe
Jinja Experience.
Day 2: Mabira Forest
You will leave Kampala after breakfast for Jinja, a town situated on the Lake Victoria Basin on the Eastern part of the country about 2hrs from Kampala. On your way to Jinja you will pass through the largest natural forest in East Africa: Mabira Forest.
Mabira Forest has an excellent Trail System that allows access to both undisturbed primary and good secondary forest. One of the forests strengths lies in the large number of birds which may be seen from the visitor's centre. Flowering trees in the clearing attract a variety of sunbirds such as green, Little Olive, Blue throated brown, Green throated, Nathan's francolin, Cassin's hawk eagle, Green tailed bristle bill, Grey long bill, Leaf love, Paradise flycatcher, Sooty boubou, Purple-throated cuckoo shrike and a variety of butterflies.
After Mabira Forest you will be driven to Jinja, via vast tea and sugar cane plantations: green massive farmlands that offer unpolluted air, peaceful atmosphere and beautiful sceneries.
Source of the Nile.
You will have a picnic lunch at the source of the Nile gardens: A serene garden with a variety of indigenous birds and monkeys and a beautiful view of Lake Victoria - the world's largest fresh water lake.
After lunch you will be taken on a boat trip to the exact spot where the River Nile separates itself from Lake Victoria. The boat trip across the River will give you the opportunity to have a good time and at the same time see varieties of birdlife. Adventure lovers could actually walk on narrow passage to an isolated rock in the middle of the water, and take some breathtaking photos.
Dinner and overnight at the Nile Resort.
Day 3 - Jinja.
White Water rafting - One day trip.
After an early breakfast you will be picked from your hotel and dropped at the starting point about a kilo meter away from the hotel.
The complete rafting trip covers 25 km of river including some of the best rapids in the world. The Nile River provides one of the best rafting trips and can accommodate any level of rafter. No experience is needed.
But we advise you to bring a swimsuit, shorts and a pair of sandals or trainers (tennis shoes) to wear on the river. You will get wet, so bring a change of clothes.
The package includes, lunch, beverages and a Barbeque at the end of the day.
Overnight at the Bujagali Campsite.
Day 4: Murchison Falls National Park - 300km (5 hours).
Murchison falls National Park is the largest park in Uganda and one of the high points of any visit to Uganda. The park is cut in half by the Nile, in the Northern circuit of the Nile you can expect to see a variety of game such as Jackals, Lions, Hyenas, Leopards, Elephants, Buffaloes, Hartebeests, Oribis, Uganda Kobs and Giraffes among others.
You will leave Jinja after breakfast and drive straight to Murchison Falls National park, arriving in the late afternoon, checked-in at Sarova Paraa Safari Lodge. You will spend the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying the hotel facilities.
Day 5: Explore Murchison Falls.
You will have an early morning game drive, and then return to the lodge for a late morning breakfast after which you will relax at the lodge until time for lunch.
After lunch you will enjoy a boat ride on the Victoria Nile to the bottom of the falls. A boat trip across the lake will give you the opportunity to see birdlife like the Kingfishers and a variety of game like crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes and hippos.
You can view the world's famous Murchison Falls, one of the prime attractions in the park. The most impressive and breathtaking view is at the top, where the Nile forces its way through a seven-metre gap in the rocks and tumbles 40 m down. (You can walk up to the top of the falls). Picked up by the driver and dropped at the lodge
Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge.
Day 6: Game viewing safari in Murchison Falls National Park.
After breakfast you will have a Delta boat and explore the Nile for about 4 hours. After this you will be driven back to the lodge for late lunch. You will then relax at the swimming pool till afternoon.
In the late afternoon you will go for a game drive, in the Southern circuit of the Nile where you can expect to see a variety of game such as Jackals, Lions, Hyenas, Leopards, Elephants, Buffaloes, Hartebeests, Oribis, Uganda Kobs and Giraffes among others. Dinner and over night at Sarova Paraa Lodge.
Day 7: Kibale National Park - Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary (10 hours).
You will have an early morning breakfast followed by a drive to Kibale lunch en route. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge Kibale.
Day 8: Chimpanzee tracking - Kibale & Queen Elizabeth 4 -5hours.
After an early morning breakfast, you will be briefed by the rangers on Chimpanzee tracking then the tracking will begin. While walking through the park, the guides will also educate you on the various flora and fauna found in the park.
The park supports the highest density of primates in the world: there are 12 species, including Black-and-White and Red colobus, L'Hoest's monkeys, baboons, guenous and chimpanzees. There are 325 species of birds in Kibale, and 144 species of butterflies and moths.
After meeting the chimpanzees, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch you will have a guided nature walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. The sanctuary offers great birding opportunities and nature walks. You will be able to see over 137 bird species and primates like Bush babies and colobus monkeys. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge Kibale.
Day 9: Queen Elizabeth National Park - Game drives.
After breakfast you will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park arriving in time for lunch. Check in, have lunch and relax at the platform with an amazing view, and hotel facilities. Dinner and Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge.
Day 10: Sunrise Game Drive.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is located on the foot hills of the mystical Rwenzori Mountains.
You will have an early morning game drive through the park where you can expect to see Lions, giant forest hogs, Leopards, hyenas, Uganda kobs, warthogs and others.
After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for a late breakfast, after which you can relax at the lodge and enjoy the lodge's facilities until lunch time.
After lunch you will go for a Boat ride along the Kazinga channel. The trip will take you along the Kazinga channel which connects Lakes George and Edward. You will see various animals that come here for a drink such as Hippos, elephants and buffaloes at the shores.
The wetlands of Lake George and Lake Edward are a special fascination to birdwatchers. The birds found here include pelicans, kingfishers, cormorants, and Saddle bill storks and fish eagles. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge.
Day 11: Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge.
You will have an early breakfast, after which you will be driven to the Kyambura gorge.
On arrival, you will begin chimpanzee trekking. During the trek you may also see other primates such as black and white colobus monkeys.
After this, you will drive through the Ishasha sector to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to more than half of the remaining mountain gorillas in the world. During the drive to Bwindi you will see various game such warthogs, tree climbing lions, Uganda Kobs, etc. You will arrive at the park in the late evening. The park also has 120 mammal species, 326 bird species, over 200 butterfly species and at least 11 primates including a healthy chimpanzee population, a vast number of L'Hoest's, red-tailed and blue monkey, as well as black-and-white colobus and olive baboon.
Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp.
Day 12: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
Bwindi Impenetrable national Park has 120 mammal species, 326 bird species, over 200 butterfly species and at least 11 primates including a healthy chimpanzee population, a vast number of L'Hoest's, red-tailed and blue monkey, as well as black-and-white colobus and olive baboon.
After an early breakfast you will meet the game rangers who will brief you on the dos and the don'ts of the gorilla trekking expedition.
You will then begin your trek, through the bushes pushing your way through the undergrowth, to track gorillas. This trek can take anywhere from one hour to eight hours, depending on the Gorilla movements, hence a reasonable degree of fitness is required. On locating the gorillas you will be able to watch them, spend time with them and marvel at them from a distance of 5 meters.
An encounter with these gentle giants will be your most exciting experience.
The park boasts of over 326 gorillas, almost more than half the population of the world's mountain gorillas. It's an extraordinary feeling sitting amongst man's closest relatives. Dinner and Overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp.
Day 13: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park.
You will have an early breakfast after which you will drive to Lake Mburo National Park, in time for lunch at Dinner and overnight at Mihingo Lodge
After lunch you will enjoy a relaxing two hour boat ride on the lake, during which you will see hippos, crocodiles and a large variety of bird species such as pelicans, black crake, heron, and cormorant and fish eagle. You can also indulge in sport fishing on the lake, which has about 6 species of fish, the common one being tilapia.
Dinner and overnight at Mihingo Lodge.
Day 14: Game drive & Nature Walks.
You will go for a sunrise game drive at the park where you can expect to see a variety of wildlife such as zebras, monkey, Impala, waterbucks, elands, buffaloes, Hippos, Impalas, topi, Bohor reedbuck, sitatunga antelope, klipspringer, vervet monkey, olive baboon, side-striped Jackal, spotted-hyena, leopard, white-tailed mongoose.
After the drive, you will return to the Lodge for late breakfast, and relax till late afternoon.
In the afternoon you will have a guided nature walk.
Dinner and overnight at Mihingo Lodge.
Day 15: Departure.
After breakfast you will be picked and driven back to Kampala, arriving in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Cassia Lodge.
